Value proposition

For those wanting to inspire a new wave of innovation, strengthen local economies and actively target poverty, Humanitarian Hearts is a not for profit organisation specialising in the design and development of fully sustainable agricultural systems. Through a process known as permaculture, a piece of land can be altered to become a self-sufficient source of food and water for local communities.

This approach lead to the development of the Mother Earth project focused on creating an eco-sanctuary to rescue orphans and allow them to learn, apply their knowledge and benefit from the program.

OUR ETHICS: EARTH CARE, PEOPLE CARE & FAIR SHARE

The ethics earth care, people care and fair share form the foundation for permaculture design and are also found in most traditional societies.

Ethics are culturally evolved mechanisms that regular self-interest, giving us a better understanding of good and bad outcomes. The greater the power of humans, the more critical ethics become for long-term cultural and biological survival.

Permaculture ethics are distilled from research into community ethics, learning from cultures that have existed in relative balance with their environment for much longer than more recent civilisations. This does not mean that we should ignore the great teachings of modern times, but in transition to a sustainable future, we need to consider values and concepts outside the current social norm.
