In September 2019, a heart-wrenching incident occurred when Abdul Kader Mounajed, aged 21 and an aspiring professional electrician, lost his life in a tragic car accident. As he journeyed home after completing his Friday prayer in Roxburgh Park, his vehicle veered out of control, colliding with a tree. This abrupt loss left a void in the lives of those who knew him - his family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Touched deeply by the tragedy, Samir Mounajed, the grieving father and brother of the deceased, reached out to Sh. Ramy, the founder of Humanitarian Hearts. United in purpose, they collaborated with the Rogers Foundation to organise a charity boxing event that would honour the memory of the late Abdul Kader Samir Mounajed.

With shared determination, Rogers Foundation and Humanitarian Hearts orchestrated an impactful call to action, aimed at establishing a perpetual charity. All donations contributed in memory of Abdul Kader would be dedicated to this noble cause. Through the combined efforts of the Rogers Foundation, Humanitarian Hearts, and Mr. Samir Mounajed, funds were raised not only during the event but also through the generosity of individuals, families, friends, and colleagues in the aftermath.

Amidst the backdrop of COVID-19's challenges, Sh. Ramy’s contacts in Indonesia remained steadfast. Months turned into years, but eventually, a glimmer of hope emerged.

After a diligent search, a beacon of goodness was discovered in the form of Ustad Zaid, a close friend of Sh. Ramy in Indonesia. Ustad Zaid's mission to establish a second branch of a Quran tahfiz boarding school for orphan girls resonated deeply. The plans to expand the school, including building additional facilities and prayer halls, persevered despite the pandemic's disruptions. The Nurul Quran tahfiz school in Cibadak Sukabumi emerged as a promising partner, as Humanitarian Hearts joined forces to realise this meaningful project.

With renovations, furnishing, and preparations completed, a significant milestone was reached - the official opening of the school was made for Wednesday 24th August 2023. The event, attended by Humanitarian Hearts founder Sh Ramy Najmeddine along with the Mounajed family, school management Ustad Zaid and his board including the town representative chief/mayor as we all worked together in the initial establishment of this beneficial institution. The school, poised to accommodate and educate 50 orphan girls in Arabic language and Quran memorisation, and to stand as a testament to collective determination and compassion.

However, the journey is far from over. The school continues to require ongoing support for crucial endeavours, including establishing an onsite masjid, creating pathways, enhancing landscaping, providing annual qurban for the girls, and addressing the monthly needs of the students.
